Microsoft has announced the appointment of Eugene Kahanovskiy as Country Manager for the Baltic countries and Ukraine: Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, effective January 2026.
Kahanovskiy will lead Microsoft’s business across a region that combines exceptional digital resilience with some of Europe’s most advanced digital ecosystems. His focus will be on strengthening cybersecurity, accelerating secure cloud adoption, enabling responsible AI use, and expanding digital skills to support long-term economic growth. He succeeds Leonid Polupan, who has pursued opportunities outside the company.
Kahanovskiy holds master’s degrees in Law and Economics from Kyiv National Economic University and in Philology from Kyiv National Linguistic University. He brings 20 years of experience in the technology sector. Since joining Microsoft in 2019, he has held senior leadership roles in Customer Success and the Public Sector, and most recently served as Country Manager ad interim, deepening partnerships across the region and supporting digital infrastructure continuity amid significant geopolitical and technological challenges.

“Baltic countries have demonstrated what true digital resilience looks like,” said Eugene Kahanovskiy, Country Manager for the Baltic countries and Ukraine at Microsoft. “Together with our partners, we will build on world-class digital leadership in e-government, cybersecurity, and responsible AI. Our goal is practical and focused: trusted use of cloud and AI that delivers measurable value for all. In Ukraine, we have helped protect critical systems, keep services running, and expand access to digital skills. This work continues.”
“Eugene brings deep regional insight and a proven ability to turn vision into action,” said Barbora Paulovič Deckerová, President for Central Europe and Central Asia at Microsoft. “With Eugene’s extensive experience in digital transformation, customer success, and organizational growth, he is ideally placed to accelerate AI adoption and create meaningful business impact across Ukraine and the Baltic region—so people, organizations, and communities can thrive in a safe and inclusive digital world.”
Microsoft remains committed to supporting Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine as long-term partners in building secure, resilient, and future-ready digital foundations.
