Microsoft appoints Yanna Andronopoulou to lead Greece, Cyprus, Malta and the Adriatic region

New regional leader will oversee Microsoft’s business across 12 markets, advancing AI-led growth while reinforcing strong local customer, partner and community relationships

Microsoft announced the appointment of Yanna Andronopoulou as General Manager for Greece, Cyprus, Malta and the Adriatics. She will lead the company’s business across 12 markets. In this role, she will help private and public-sector organizations use AI and cloud technologies to modernize services, improve productivity and support Europe’s competitiveness.

In her new expanded role, Andronopoulou will build on Microsoft’s established local presence, trusted relationships and market expertise. Customers and partners in the Adriatics will continue to benefit from trusted local teams and market expertise. They will also gain broader access to regional specialists, best practices and innovation that can accelerate digital transformation and AI adoption.

A region with complementary strengths 

Greece’s AI transformation is supported by Microsoft’s largest cloud investment in the  area, with the Azure region planned to open in 2028. Across the Adriatics, governments and businesses are advancing digital programs. At the same time, Microsoft Development Center Serbia contributes engineering expertise used globally. Cyprus and Malta contribute fast-growing digital economies. Both markets also have ambitious public-sector modernization agendas. The new structure makes it easier to share specialist expertise, skills initiatives and successful approaches across markets.

About Yanna Andronopoulou 

Before assuming the expanded role, Andronopoulou was General Manager of Microsoft Greece, Cyprus and Malta. Since joining Microsoft in 2014, she has held senior commercial leadership positions focused on customer transformation and strategic partnerships. Earlier in her career, she held roles across the ICT and telecommunications sectors. She leads Microsoft’s Women Employee Resource Group and holds an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Patras and an Executive MBA from the Athens University of Economics and Business.
