Microsoft enters an MOU with Office of National Digital Economy and Society Commission to drive Thailand towards Digital Transformation

Dhanawat Suthumpun (left), Managing Director, Microsoft (Thailand) Limited, and Vunnaporn Devahastin na Ayutthaya (right), Secretary General, Office of National Digital Economy and Society Commission (ONDE), have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between Microsoft (Thailand) and Office of National Digital Economy and Society Commission. The ceremony was presided by Prime Minister General Prayuth Chan-ocha (3rd from left), Deputy Prime Minister Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong (3rd from right), Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak (2nd from left), and Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj (2nd from right), Minister of Digital Economy and Society (DE).

The main objective of the MOU is to drive Thailand towards a successful Digital Transformation in every aspect, focusing on digital innovation capacity and business competitiveness, by promoting a more modern workforce with digital capabilities. The 3 key points of this MOU are Capacity Building for youths, students, startups and the general public through Microsoft’s digital and IT skills training projects, Digital Transformation through a pilot modern workplace project to promote the use of hybrid cloud platform, and Policy Guideline on Digital Technology to improve the standard of cybersecurity, increase regulatory transparency and establish trust in and among government agencies and other parties in order to drive Digital Economy and Society Plan under Thailand 4.0 policy.
