Hanoi, Vietnam, 18 Sep 2025 – Microsoft today announced the appointment of Dhanawat Suthumpun as Managing Director for Emerging Markets, in addition to his current role as Managing Director of Microsoft Thailand. As part of his expanded regional leadership in the Emerging Markets (including Vietnam), Dhanawat will drive Microsoft’s mission to empower Vietnam’s public and private sectors in their digital transformation journeys, while fostering innovation, sustainability, and inclusive economic growth.
Dhanawat brings over 30 years of leadership experience in the IT industry, including eight years at the helm of Microsoft Thailand. Under his leadership, the company has accelerated cloud adoption, strengthened cybersecurity capabilities, and deepened partnerships across industries to support Thailand’s digital ambitions.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Dhanawat held senior managing roles at Hewlett-Packard and IBM, where he led enterprise sales and strategic growth initiatives in Thailand and across Southeast Asia. He holds a Master of Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino and a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Assumption University, Bangkok.
