BizTalk Server 2000 and Content Management Server 2001 Win Crossroads 2002 A-List Awards for Best Supply Web Integration And Content Management Solutions

REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 7, 2002 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that Open Systems Advisors Inc. (OSA) bestowed top honors on Microsoft®
BizTalk (TM) Server 2000 and Content Management Server 2001 with the Crossroads 2002 A-List Awards. BizTalk Server 2000 demonstrated itself to be the best in Web supply integration while Content Management Server 2001 distinguished itself as the leading content management solution, beating out other top industry players.

“After interviewing several IT executives who had implemented Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 and BizTalk Server 2000 at their companies, it was clear that each product has successfully combined strategic focus and a viable product to achieve consistent results for its customers,” said Nina Lytton, president of Crossroads-OSA. “We believe these two technologies are making the strongest contribution to business results in their respective categories today.”

After speaking with four customers that have deployed BizTalk Server, Open Systems Advisors chose BizTalk Server 2000 for the top spot in the Web Supply Integration category due to its ability to enable customers to easily integrate applications and rapidly build and deploy dynamic business processes inside the enterprise and across organizational lines. The customers — Aircast Inc., Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Solutia Inc. and Wilson Supply — took part in in-depth, confidential interviews that allowed the judges to make an informed decision.

Content Management Server 2001 was the leader in the Content Management category because it delivers an enterprise-level solution with less complexity and a lower requirement for professional services than leading alternatives. This makes it a clear choice for customers looking for an efficient way to quickly build, deploy and maintain Web sites across the enterprise. Cable & Wireless and Unified Western Grocers Inc. are among the Content Management Server customers who participated in extensive interviews with Open Systems Advisors judges.

This latest honor from Crossroads marks the second consecutive year that a Microsoft .NET Enterprise Server has taken home the award, demonstrating again Microsoft’s best-of-breed enterprise platform. Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 was recognized with the Crossroads 2001 A-List Award for best e-commerce platform last year.
