SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — August 12, 2010 — In just a few short months UVO, powered by Microsoft, will start appearing in new Kia vehicles in the U.S. In anticipation of this, the Windows Embedded News Center team recently tagged along to the national press event where Kia Motors introduced the all-new 2011 Kia Sportage CUV, one of the first vehicles that will offer UVO.
Taking a break from the cars and media, Michael Sprague, vice president of Marketing & Communications at Kia Motors America, sat down with us at a hotel in San Francisco to share his candid thoughts on UVO, in-car technology, the partnership with Microsoft and the future of the system. While the setting — high atop 30+ floors — offered us a stunning view of the city, the wind did provide an occasional interruption.
All signs point to a time when these types of in-car technology solutions will be a must-have and a part of everyday life. For Michael, that time is now.
