REDMOND, Wash., June 25, 1997 — MSNBC on the Internet (http://www.msnbc.com) today released Personal Delivery, an e-mail version of MSNBC’s popular Personal Front Page (www.msnbc.com/toolkit.asp). Personal Delivery sends Internet subscribers MSNBC’s top news stories, news on topics of interest, stock quotes, sports scores and local news in the form of Personal Front Page – a multimedia-rich, HTML document with active links to MSNBC.com.
“Personal Delivery is helping MSNBC pioneer a new approach to Web content delivery,”
said James Kinsella, general manager of MSNBC on the Internet.
“Rather than taking the cyber-firehose approach – which is what ‘push’ has become – we deliver the news you want, the way you want it.”
MSNBC Personal Front Page is the cornerstone of the tools offered in the family of delivery and notification features known as MSNBC Personal Toolkit. Also included in MSNBC Personal Services are MSNBC Personal News Offline and MSNBC Personal News Alert.
