Microsoft and Reuters Announce Joint Internet Initiatives

GENEVA, March 22, 2000 — Today at Reuters InfoWorld, Reuters and Microsoft announced an alliance to produce a series of joint initiatives, intended to result in the delivery of new Internet products by the sharing of technologies and resources. Reuters plans to make advanced technologies available by basing their efforts on Microsoft standard products such as Windows 2000 and Office 2000, and to deploy them over secure, fast IP networks or directly via the Internet.

The alliance will also focus work on servicing the needs of financial professionals through the use of Internet services, messaging technology and Microsoft Exchange products. The Reuters Digital Dashboard (RDD), Reuters vision of a personal portal, is the first example of these initiatives. Click here for more information.
