MSN HomeAdvisor Doubles Traffic, According to Media Metrix

REDMOND, Wash., March 13, 2001 — Microsoft Corp. today announced that the MSN® HomeAdvisor™
online home and real estate guide has doubled its traffic in the past six months and far outpaced its closest competitors in the past year, according to just-released Media Metrix statistics for February. Traffic rose nearly 100 percent from September 2000 through February 2001, making HomeAdvisor the fastest-growing real estate listings site on the Internet.

HomeAdvisor’s growth far outpaces that of its closest competitors in the real estate category. February data from Media Metrix shows visits to HomeAdvisor have grown 157 percent since February 2000, while traffic to the next largest real estate site has grown just 49 percent in that same time period.

As a result of its traffic surge, HomeAdvisor is delivering double the customer leads to its real estate partners as well. The site now delivers more than 5,000 customer leads to real estate professionals every day, numbers that are sure to increase as traffic to HomeAdvisor continues to grow.

Today’s traffic announcement comes on the heels of the site’s recognition as the Best Overall Home-Buying Site in Yahoo! Internet Life’s annual Gold Star site review last month. Yahoo! reviewers ranked HomeAdvisor as the best site in every rating category and found that HomeAdvisor displayed more home listings for sale than competitor sites in nearly every search performed.

In addition, was named Best Home-Buying Site on the Web for the third consecutive quarter in the Gomez Winter 2000 Internet Home-Buying Scorecard – the only real estate site to earn the top ranking in three consecutive scorecards.
