Key Corporate Software Vendors Team Up With Microsoft To Offer New Choices to Enterprise Customers

ANAHEIM, Calif., July 13, 2001 — At the opening today of the Microsoft® Fusion 2001 business symposium and partner exposition, 13 of the industry’s leading enterprise software vendors announced plans to embed Microsoft SharePoint™
Portal Server technology as the centerpiece of their new product offerings. Aimware Inc., Citrix Systems Inc., Corechange Inc., Decision Support Panel International (DSP), Elite Information Systems, InfoImage Inc., Intervate, IXOS Software AG, JPH International, K-Solutions Inc., Notable Solutions Inc., Semio Corp. and Webridge Inc. have chosen to license SharePoint Portal Server technology to offer new, enhanced solutions to customers.

SharePoint Portal Server combines industry-leading, enterprise-level search functionality (developed by Microsoft Research) with one of the only integrated portal and document management solutions on the market, resulting in a flexible, easily customizable enterprise portal. Enterprise software vendors, realizing the value of this integrated approach, have chosen to license SharePoint Portal Server technology to enhance their portal products.

“Integrating SharePoint Portal Server into Coreport gives us the ability to offer our global customers enterprise-scale portal solutions, built on Microsoft technologies, that feature sophisticated document management and search capabilities,”
said Ulf Arnetz, chairman and CEO of Corechange.

Citrix, which recently acquired portal vendor Sequoia Software Corp., plans to integrate the search and document management functionality in SharePoint Portal Server with its XML-based portal product, XPS.

“Making the search and document management functionality of SharePoint Portal Server part of our portal solutions will improve user productivity through more efficient use of information sources,”
said Paul Hahn, director of corporate development for Citrix.
“The functionality of SharePoint Portal Server nicely complements the broad capabilities of our XML-based portal software.”

Since its debut May 31, SharePoint Portal Server has received rave reviews and widespread interest from customers and third parties.

“We are pleased to see the strong commitment our industry partners have made to the SharePoint Portal Server platform,”
said Gytis Barzdukas, group product manager for the Portal Business Group at Microsoft Corp.
“By embedding SharePoint Portal Server in their products, our ISV partners can offer customers enhanced portal solutions designed to realize productivity gains for knowledge workers more quickly.”
