Microsoft Great Plains eSell Enhancements Provide Business-to-Business, Payment and Shipping Functionality

FARGO, N.D., Aug. 28, 2001 — Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions today announced added features to its hosted e-commerce solution, Microsoft® Great Plains®
eSell, for companies needing a fast, easy and economical way to bring their businesses to the Internet. The eSell enhancements include business-to-business functionality, advanced integration functionality, the CyberSource payment service, the GoShip shipment rating quote service and automatic shipment notification.

The enhanced business-to-business and business-to-customer functionality eSell now offers enables organizations to expand to new markets. Fully integrated with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics 6.0 and eEnterprise 6.0, eSell enables business-to-business and business-to-consumer sales via the Web. The added features complement the existing level of integration and sophistication commonly found in much more expensive solutions. Specifically, this functionality enables businesses to provide pricing, quantity discounts and credit limits appropriate for each customer based on existing relationships and agreements.

“Were pleased to offer our customers this new advanced business-to-business functionality that takes full advantage of robust integration to our back-office solutions,”
said Jeff Edwards, director of e-commerce and supply chain management (SCM) at Microsoft Great Plains.
“Our relationships with CyberSource and GoShip, combined with new business-to-business offerings, only enhance the value of eSell.”

In addition to the business-to-business eSell enhancements, Microsoft Great Plains has worked with CyberSource, a leading provider of risk management and electronic payment solutions, to offer online payment processing. CyberSource offers a real-time authorization and settlement process on a pay-per-use basis, with the option of settling automatically online or within the businesss Dynamics or eEnterprise solution.

Through a relationship with GoShip, eSell helps companies make strategic shipping decisions by providing shipping quotes from major carriers for all types of shipping services. The relationship provides Microsoft Great Plains eSell customers with GoShips Web-based shipping rating quote service as part of a seamless online purchase transaction. The GoShip service is completely integrated into the eSell shopping cart platform, allowing Microsoft Great Plains customers to provide their online shoppers with a choice of shipping options that meets their shoppers time and budgetary needs, and allowing the online merchant to have more control over shipping operations.
