Windows Store Only at Best Buy launches in LA

LOS ANGELES – Aug. 7, 2013 – The Windows Store Only at Best Buy is launching Wednesday in the LA market, and is teaming up with Major League Soccer to highlight ways adults and kids can stay fit for the back-to-school season. There will be everything from soccer drills on a full-size field in the parking lot to the latest Windows 8 fitness and nutrition apps. (For a selection of featured apps, see this blog post.)

More than one-third of American adults (35.7 percent) and nearly one-fifth of American children (18 percent) are obese, according to the Centers for Disease Control. Microsoft believes that technology can help turn the tide with personalized coaching, nutrition advice and even gaming to help make fitness fun.

The Windows Store Only at Best Buy is a dedicated space inside 600 Best Buy stores in North America (500 in the United States and more than 100 in Canada) that delivers a premium customer experience, making Best Buy the destination and authority for Microsoft products and services. The dedicated space will average 1,900 square feet. And to ensure the best possible customer experience, both companies are investing significantly in highly trained Best Buy blue shirts and dedicated Microsoft specialists to staff the Windows Store Only at Best Buy.
