Link Group invests in cloud transformation with Microsoft

Data driven culture, state of the art tech shift innovation dial

SYDNEY – April 29, 2019 – Microsoft is delighted to announce that it is working with the ASX 100 listed Link Group, on a multi-million-dollar cloud-based transformation initiative. The transformation will enable Link Group to more effectively leverage data-driven insights and better use capabilities such as machine learning and AI, to deliver industry-leading customer service for clients across its fund administration, corporate markets and asset services divisions.

Over the next three years, Link Group will transition selected workloads to Microsoft Azure, deploy Microsoft 365 for productivity, and leverage Microsoft Dynamics 365 to optimise relationship management, and ensure Link Group clients and employees across its global operations access consistent, high-quality service.

This transformation reinforces Link Group’s commitment and investment in digital technology to provide market leading solutions for their customers, by empowering its people with leading edge technology.

Harnessing Microsoft’s Azure platform will allow Link Group to further accelerate speed to market for new innovations, by using Azure’s in-built capabilities to securely test, deploy and manage innovations that utilise big data, advanced machine learning and AI as their base. This will bring a new level of experience and also efficiency to Link Group’s clients and their end-users, as their interactions become increasingly personal and tailored – therefore delivering greater value with each interaction and touch point.

Paul Gardiner, Link Group Chief Operations, Technology and Innovation Officer; “To ensure both our clients and employees’ continued success in a rapid and continuously changing financial services sector, we need robust, trusted and flexible information and technology platforms that supports our vision of every customer and every employee benefiting from the same calibre of service and insights, no matter where they are located in the world. We’re pleased that this will be supported by Microsoft.

This partnership will not only benefit Link from a day-to-day technology perspective, it will also support our growth plans by giving us access to tools that support a scaled, increased speed of deployment, especially for our pipeline of innovations that use new and emerging technologies at its core.”

Delivering exceptional customer service and experience is of paramount importance to Link Group – but it is also focussed on harnessing data and technology to empower its people.

Duncan Taylor, Financial Services Director, Microsoft Australia said; “Link Group is establishing a new high watermark for customer experience. The data insights that will be available to clients through Dynamics 365 to help them make informed decisions, the intelligence that employees can access through Microsoft 365, supporting their everyday needs, will play an important role in Link’s continued success.

“The global reach and scale of Azure also supports the Group’s unified global strategy and provides a natural foundation for continued growth anywhere in the world.”

Link Group’s investment in advanced technology, people and processes underpins the comprehensive services, solutions and proprietary systems that are utilised by Link Group’s clients, including listed and unlisted entities, large asset owners and trustees. Their range of solutions include scaled administration, contact centre operations, digital technologies such as front-end, transactional portals and mobile apps, as well as rich data analytics.
