Microsoft has published a series of videos to help people learn more about developing. The latest batch focuses on Webhint, a linting tool that helps people oversee a website’s accessibility, speed, security and more by checking the code for best practices and common errors.

Webhint’s development started inside the Microsoft Edge team. Early on, the team realized that the project had to be open source and community driven. The best way to achieve that was by donating the code to the JS Foundation, have a governance model that welcomes input for anyone in the web community (browser vendors, web experts, and developers), and continue the work there.

Here is Chris Heilmann, Senior Program Manager Developer Experience and Evangelism at Microsoft, to tell you everything you need to know about Webhint:

What is Webhint and why did we create it?

How does Webhint differ from other tools?

What are the features of Webhint?

How does Webhint work on the command line?
