MALAYSIA, NOVEMBER 5, 2020 – Global technology leader Lenovo today launched a far-reaching program in collaboration with Microsoft, designed to prepare schools in Malaysia for the future through accelerated digital transformation.

Under the new Lenovo EdVision program, individuals and schools in Malaysia will be provided with access to online resources that will help them through their education transformation journey, as well as prioritized access to the latest solutions in education tech. Especially for the school partners, Lenovo will work with Microsoft to host workshops for the school committee teams, ranging from school principals to teachers from selected primary and secondary schools, and provide tech consultation along their digital transformation process.

In addition to the above, solution showcases for higher education would be organized in the coming months to demonstrate the adoption of collaborative learning to further elevate the classroom experience.

According to a recent report by the World Economic Forum, more than half (54 percent) of all employees globally will require significant reskilling and upskilling over the next three years. “Technology education is vital to securing the future careers of today’s students, and the future economy of Malaysia. Students in school today will enter into careers that have yet to be imagined – meaning that the fundamental structure of education is also changing. Lenovo understands the challenges schools face in transforming education and implementing new models of teaching, learning, and collaboration, while managing cost, efficiency, and security,” said Khoo Hung Chuan, Director of Education Transformation and Development, Lenovo Central Asia Pacific.

The program was recently launched in the Philippines and Indonesia before today’s availability here in Malaysia.

Partners in the EdVision program will enjoy an early view of future technologies that can make education more flexible, tailored, and effective. Lenovo and Microsoft offer a complete set of solutions, designed for the convenience of use, ease of understanding, flexibility, and collaboration.

Sheikh Manzoor, General Manager of Public Sector Group, Microsoft Malaysia said, “Children who start school from now on will grow up to be workers and leaders in a digital-first world that will demand new skills and new ways of thinking. Hence, we must ensure that they have the right access to the right tools and platforms to succeed. At Microsoft, we are committed to empowering every student on the planet to achieve more. Through our partnership with Lenovo, we aim to deliver personalized learning via easy-to-manage technology, supported by our Windows 10 devices along with Microsoft 365 Education, built for the classroom and beyond.” These valuable collaborations allow Lenovo to expand its portfolio of smart education solutions to new form factors suitable for e-learning.

Schools and industry partners who join the EdVision program will work collaboratively with Lenovo and Microsoft to promote the digital transformation of education, by participating in press conferences and other outreach activities.
