Aik Chong Phuah is a seasoned business and technology leader with nearly three decades of experience leading large-scale digital transformation across complex, global organizations.
As a Client Delivery Partner at Microsoft Malaysia, he works closely with senior client leaders as a trusted advisor, helping them translate business strategy into technology-enabled outcomes. His work spans cloud, data and AI, enterprise platforms, cybersecurity, and large-scale transformation delivery, with a strong focus on execution excellence, value realization, and creating long-term impact for Microsoft’s customers.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, Aik Chong brings deep cross-industry experience across energy, media, digital platforms, and enterprise technology services. Prior to joining Microsoft, he served as Chief Executive Officer of PETRONAS Digital, the centralized digital and IT arm of the PETRONAS Group. In this role, he led a global organization of more than 2,000 technology professionals, overseeing enterprise-wide digital, cloud, data, and IT initiatives supporting operations in more than 100 countries.
Earlier in his career, Aik Chong spent over two decades at Astro Malaysia, where he rose to Chief Technology Officer and played a pivotal role in transforming the company from a traditional media organization into a digital-first, data-driven enterprise.
Known for his collaborative and purpose-driven leadership style, Aik Chong is passionate about developing talent, fostering strong partner ecosystems, and building sustainable technology capabilities that deliver measurable business value.
Outside of work, Aik Chong enjoys exploring new places at a slower pace—taking time to appreciate local cuisine, and to understand how different cultures and systems shape the way societies function.
He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from University Putra Malaysia.
