As Chief Financial Officer of Microsoft Malaysia, JiaYing (JY) Lee is the strategic partner to the Managing Director and the Malaysia leadership team, stewarding the financial health of the business as Malaysia accelerates AI transformation. She leads investment strategy, fiscal discipline, and governance to unlock sustainable growth for customers and partners.

JY brings nearly two decades of finance leadership across Audit, Banking, eCommerce, and Technology. Over her 10 years at Microsoft, she has held four progressively broader Controllership roles — most recently as Hub Enterprise Finance Manager for Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, where she partnered on a multi-market Enterprise portfolio and supported the launch of Microsoft’s new datacentres in the region. Earlier, she served as Statutory and Tax Controller, Commercial Controller, and Consumer & Devices Sales Controller for Malaysia.

A passionate advocate for people and culture, JY serves as the ASEAN MCAPS Finance People Lead, championing career development and community giving across the region’s finance community. She believes, “Finance is more than numbers — it is about creating clarity, unlocking possibilities, and empowering others to do their best work.”

Prior to Microsoft, JY held finance roles at Citibank Malaysia, was a founding team member of Zalora Malaysia, and served as an Auditor at Ernst & Young in London.

JY graduated with First Class Honours in Biotechnology from University College London (UCL) and is a finalist of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (ICAS). Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Malay, she enjoys travelling and spending time with her family.
