Civil Service and Government Development Bureau to add GPT capabilities of Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service to advance its Sprinklr-powered Sharek platform

  • Collaboration between the Civil Services and Government Development Bureau of Qatar, Microsoft and Sprinklr aims to improve citizen experience and achieve excellence in government services.

The Civil Service and Government Development Bureau of Qatar has announced its intentions to utilize the capabilities of OpenAI’s powered by Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, within its Sharek platform that’s developed by Sprinklr, to enhance citizen’s experience and advance the level of excellence in government services.

In light of this collaboration, Sprinklr, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Microsoft defining their intention to empower the Sharek platform with the most advanced AI models available in Azure OpenAI Service. The signing ceremony took place on the sidelines of the first AI Summit in Qatar held under the patronage and in the presence of HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology.

Mr Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, witnessed the signing of the MoU between Ms Lana Khalaf, General Manager, Microsoft Qatar, and Haitham Elkhatib, Senior Vice President of Growth Markets, Sprinklr, in the presence of Mr Hassan Abdulrahman Al Ibrahim, Director of Government Development Affairs, Civil Service and Government Development Bureau.

The MoU defines the scope of cooperation between the two parties. It aims to enhance the Sharek platform by establishing a centralized data platform and making it easier to access and retrieve information, quickly and thoroughly understand user feedback and enable high-speed response and action. To meet local compliance and data residency requirements, the Sharek platform will soon be hosted on Microsoft Cloud Datacenter region in Qatar.

Mr Hassan Al Ibrahim stated the following on this occasion:

“AI will transform the Unified Citizen Experience through the Sharek platform, enabling us to deliver efficient and personalized services and consistent and accurate information to customers and government employees. AI will revolutionize citizen connections, services, and decision-making. Our commitment ensures seamless and impactful citizen services for a connected and empowered community.”

For her part, Lana Khalaf, General Manager, Microsoft Qatar, said, “AI is the defining technology of our time, and Microsoft breakthroughs in AI through Microsoft Azure are helping people and organizations be more productive and go on to solve the most pressing problems of our society. Since the general availability of Azure OpenAI Service, we have seen growing demand from customers in Qatar to acquire access to the service. This collaboration with the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Sprinklr will support the Bureau’s efforts to innovate new GPT-powered citizen experiences and achieve new benchmarks of excellence in government services.”

Hosted in the Microsoft Cloud Datacenter Region in Qatar, Sharek platform is the first in the region, providing a Unified Citizen Experience that simplifies access to services and information. It optimizes government operation and efficiency while improving engagement and enhancing citizen experience. With Sharek, citizens can easily connect with the government, submit service feedback, and stay informed through its AI-empowered information hub, all in one place.

Additionally, the Sharek platform serves as a bridge between the local community and government services. It gathers feedback and comments from  multiple digital channels and translates them into reports and recommendations that help improve the quality of services.
