The Microsoft ScaleUp program (previously known as Microsoft Accelerator) is designed for Series A startups and offers access to sales, marketing and technical support. Eligible startups partake in the immersive program at one of our eight global locations followed by ongoing support from a dedicated team of success managers. One of the ScaleUp locations is Microsoft ScaleUp Berlin, where a dedicated team around MD Iskender Dirik twice a year support a batch of up to 10 startups with dedicated coaching, training and technical support. In this blog series we will introduce one of the participating StartUps each Tuesday.
Berlin-based startup Opinary has established a new way for users to share their opinions in online content. Their technology helps 120 million monthly users to share their view with a simple tap, and helps them understand opinion trends at a glance.
Publishing partners – including the largest German online newspapers and global leaders like The Times or HuffPost – use Opinary to engage and monetize their audiences, while global brands like Toyota or Mastercard boost attention, create conversions and generate insights.
Opinary’s technology makes content interactive and gives users a voice
“We believe marketing today is broken,” states Cornelius Frey, Co-Founder & CEO, Opinary. “Users are no longer receptive to forced one-way messages. Instead, we believe in putting users in charge – with relevant, tailored content and interactions. We help enterprises and publishers engage, understand and convert their most valuable audiences at scale.”
60 seconds with Opinary
Opinary participated together with nine different Tech-Startups at the Microsoft ScaleUp Batch Week in Berlin. We asked them some questions about their collaboration with Microsoft, and the new learnings they’ve taken away from the experience:
How are you involved with Microsoft ScaleUp?
We work with both the global Microsoft content team bringing our product to more publishers globally, and with industry experts introducing our tools to the marketing stacks of leading European brands.
What was the biggest challenge for you before the start of the program – and have you overcome it yet?
The biggest priority is our growth in the US, where we are growing fast and have established a local team now. The second challenge is bringing our tools to enterprises to use on their own sites to increase engagement and conversion. We now have a solid and scaling go-to-market strategy for this new product segment.
What areas did the ScaleUp Batch Week help you the most?
Discussing growth challenges with other post series A Founders was very helpful!
In a nutshell: What makes the Microsoft ScaleUp special for you?
The Access to one of the best global enterprise sales forces and best practices.
Opinary’s goal for the next year is to schieve five to ten times growth, and to open new international markets. We wish them all the best!
