On Monday, we released the 2013 Citizenship Report, which describes our citizenship work in support of our company’s mission during the last fiscal year and shares our vision for what’s to come.

On Sunday at the Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation’s Annual Forum in Abuja, Nigeria, Microsoft announced its membership in the newly formed Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI).

In the Microsoft Disaster Response Blog, Harmony Mabrey, senior operations manager for Microsoft Disaster Response, describes how the team works to understand the root of problems from the perspective of those most affected by it, and then apply the technology that solves the issue.

On Friday, several thousand Microsoft employees and their friends and families will raise funds for their favorite nonprofits during the annual 5K Run/Walk around the campus of Microsoft’s corporate headquarters in Redmond, Wash. Later in the month, Microsoft offices around the world will participate in the 24-Hour Global Give & Go, an international fundraising relay across time zones.

Microsoft General Manager of Citizenship & Public Affairs Lori Forte Harnick was recently in New York where she had the opportunity to host a group of young international men and women in a discussion examining the challenges facing young people around the world.
