The first update for Visual Studio is now available, fixing some key bugs – including improved stability of the XAML designers in Visual Studio and Blend.

Microsoft introduced several cloud-based services running on Windows Azure, extending development experience in the cloud. Visual Studio 2013 and Visual Studio Online represent the beginning of a new era for Visual Studio, combining a powerful desktop integrated development environment with rich developer tools and services in the cloud.

Included in the “deluge” of Visual Studio 2013 releases last month was the 2013 release of Team Explorer Everywhere, which lets employees access the projects they’re working on with other employees in Eclipse and/or non-Windows environments.

With the release of Visual Studio 2013 RC, LightSwitch now uses a slimmer OData format (JSON Light) that uses considerably less bandwidth. In simple terms, this means business apps built using LightSwitch in Visual Studio 2013 RC will run faster.
