™Developer Conference 97 here today, Microsoft Corp., in conjunction with FoxPro Advisor Magazine, kicked off the Visual FoxPro Excellence Awards, an applications development contest to recognize and celebrate the wide variety of solutions built with the Microsoft® Visual FoxPro database management system. Entrants will compete in six categories showcasing all types of Visual FoxPro-based solutions – from network-based all the way up to state-of-the-art Internet and client/server database solutions – that developers are building today and that highlight the unique skills of the Visual FoxPro community. Winners will be recognized and extensively promoted by Microsoft and FoxPro Advisor Magazine.

“We are excited to see the tremendous response to the Visual FoxPro Excellence Awards here at Visual FoxPro DevCon 97,” said Paul Gross, vice president, developer tools at Microsoft. “It is time to let our loyal developer community show the world how they are creating state-of-the-art Internet and client/server database solutions and meeting the needs of the business community with Visual FoxPro.”

The Excellence Awards program, which begins today and will run through Jan. 9, 1998, will showcase the variety of solutions being built with Visual FoxPro as well as the unique skills of developers who use it.
