Microsoft Announces Office 2001 for Mac Service Release 1

REDMOND, Wash., April 2, 2001 — Microsoft Corp. today announced the immediate availability of Microsoft® Office 2001 for Mac Service Release 1 (English language version). The service release is a set of minor product updates for the suite of applications found in Office 2001 (Word, Excel, the PowerPoint® presentation graphics program and the Entourage™
e-mail and personal information manager) that address specific product issues in existing features. Microsoft Office 2001 Service Release 1 provides continued compatibility and support for users of Office 2001 who run applications on Mac OS 9.1 and Mac OS X (Classic).

Users will be able to get the service release as a free download from the Microsoft MacTopia Web site at http://www.microsoft.com/mac/ (connect-time charges may apply). It is recommended that users install Microsoft Office 2001 Service Release 1 if they are using an operating system introduced after September 2000.
