REDMOND, Wash., Dec. 12, 2001 — Microsoft Corp. today reiterated that the company is on track to launch the Xbox video game system in Japan on Feb. 22, 2002, as previously announced. Recent press reports have indicated that the launch date had slipped, but there are no changes to the Feb. 22 launch plans. Microsoft also is moving forward with the planned March 14, 2002, launch of Xbox in Europe.
Following the successful launch in North America last month, gamer excitement for the arrival of Xbox in Japan and Europe is continuing to build.
