REDMOND, Wash., Nov. 6, 2003 — Thanksgiving is still weeks away, but it’s not too early to get a jump on holiday shopping. Even if visions of sugarplum fairies aren’t dancing in shoppers’ heads just yet, MSN®
Shopping ( http://www.msnshopping.com/ ) is making it worthwhile to get a head start on gift-buying with its 12 Days of Deals promotion in the United States.
MSN Shopping’s 12 Days of Deals runs from Nov. 6 to Nov. 21 in the United States. During that time, MSN shoppers will have exclusive access to discounts of up to 80 percent on more than 150 hot-selling items from selected merchants, including Barnes & Noble.com, Eddie Bauer, Kmart, the Sports Authority, JC Penney, Dell, Circuit City, drugstore.com, Horchow, Cooking.com and Proflowers.com.
In addition to offering deep discounts, MSN Shopping is making it easy for people to find the perfect gift no matter when they shop. MSN Shopping includes easy-to-use features such as MSN Shopping Search, which allows customers to quickly find an item and compare features, prices and reviews; and MSN Shopping Assistant, which offers live shopping help 24×7. MSN is also offering gift advice from shopping guru and celebrity fashion stylist Wayne Scot Lukas, premiere season host of TLC’s hit show “What Not to Wear.”
“The hardest thing about holiday shopping is getting started,” said Christine Andrews, product manager at MSN. “MSN’s 12 Days of Deals gives people a little extra incentive. In addition to the convenience and ease of online shopping, we’re offering people incredible bargains that give them a reason to start buying now and avoid the holiday rush.”
Andrews noted that the Department of Commerce estimates that consumers will spend $17 billion online during the fourth quarter, an increase of more than 20 percent from last year.
