Mobile-first cloud-first world front and center at Worldwide Partner Conference

Microsoft is integrating the cloud into the Microsoft Partner Network, with three new cloud-focused competencies based on performance for Office 365 and Microsoft Azure to be offered to better help partners serve customers. The announcement was made Monday by Phil Sorgen at the Worldwide Partner Conference 2014 in Washington, D.C.

Microsoft launches Vertical ISV Partnership Program at the Worldwide Partner Conference

Steve Guggenheimer, corporate vice president, Developer Experience and Evangelism, and Microsoft’s chief evangelist, reports from the Worldwide Partner Conference a new offering for valued partners called the Vertical Independent Software Vendor Partnership Program. He writes that it’s an in-depth program to help partners succeed in a cloud-first, mobile-first world.

Partners can move customers to the cloud with new Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider program

“Partners in this program will be able to directly provision customer subscriptions and provide one monthly bill for both Partner and Microsoft services,” writes John Case, vice president of marketing for Microsoft Office, in a blog post. “They will also directly manage their customer subscriptions with in-product tools in the Partner Admin Center and own the technical support relationship.”

Windows Phone 8.1 updates to Bing apps include single sign on, cooking videos and The New York Times

Based on your feedback, you can now enter your Microsoft credentials once, and choose to connect to each Bing app. Within the Bing Food & Drink app, you’ll now get video tutorials, tips from master chefs and a source hub where you can choose your favorite culinary publishers. The News app expands with The New York Times blogs, which cover health, politics, sports, business and more.
