Windows Azure updates boost push notifications, high-availability in the cloud

The lives of mobile and enterprise developers who use Windows Azure became a little sweeter on Tuesday, when Microsoft announced the general availability of Windows Azure Notification Hubs and support for SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Group Listeners. The updates will reduce development time and costs for building mobile applications, and help enterprise developers deliver high availability and global business continuity.

Work a pain? New Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop keyboard combines looks and comfort

Lots of people say their work is a pain, and according to a new Microsoft Healthy Computing Survey, most of them aren’t kidding. Of those surveyed, 85 percent said they experience discomfort on a daily basis as a result of their workspace setup. The survey coincides with Microsoft’s announcement of the next evolution of its ergonomic products – the Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop – the goal of which was to create something beautiful without sacrificing the ergonomic benefits provided by the industry-renowned Natural Ergonomic Keyboard and Mouse.

New York to move 120,000 state employees to Office 365

New York State is the latest state government selected Office 365 to consolidate their email systems, provide access to familiar Office applications, and place shared calendars in a cloud-based system for more than 120,000 employees who work for state executive agencies.
