Kuala Lumpur, 26 September, 2016: Microsoft Excel, being part of the initial Microsoft Office suite, is an application that most of us grew up with. For many, it’s part of their daily routine and an integral part of their lives. Whether its maintaining records for personal work like grocery lists, holiday planning, home accounts and personal projects or for work related activities like managing operational information and viewing company P&Ls, we rely on Excel heavily. It is therefore with great pleasure that we announce the upcoming contest themed around an application that we’re all familiar with and love.

Microsoft Malaysia invites everyone to showcase their creativity and talent in the Malaysia leg of the Excel World Championships. Excel fans can show off their skills as they work through questions focusing on data management, data visualization and formula writing. Students, consultants, working professionals and Excels fans alike are encouraged to join the trials, from 3 October 2016.

The key dates for #ExcelChampMY championship are:

  • Trial Round: 3 – 7 October 2016
  • Quarter finals: 12 – 21 October 2016
  • Semi-finals: 27 October 2016

Enthusiasts can also enter the quarter-finals directly in case they miss the trials. Three finalists will compete against each other and stand the chance to win exciting prizes like the Surface Pro 4, Surface Pro 3 and Lumia 650.

“In line with our mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more, we are proud to say millions rely on Excel to get things done faster and make their lives easier. We want to reward Excel fans with this contest, and ultimately see what they can do!
