Commanding the fleet: How Kiwi firm Rocos is leading the robotics revolution

“We’re entering the golden age of robotics,” says David Inggs, Chief Executive of Rocos. Rocos is a cloud platform for the management of fleets of autonomous mobile robots. The platform allows robotics engineers to manage multiple robots at once, breaking the one-to-one relationship between engineer and robot which was once required.

Rocos is built on Microsoft’s Azure cloud, in Auckland, and is used by customers in over seven countries. Using Azure allows Rocos to reach those customers wherever they are, leaving the platform management to Microsoft. It’s a product that David believes will continue to scale globally, with the aim of being the ubiquitous platform for automating the physical world using mobile robots.
