According to the IDC 2024 AI report, the global adoption rate of generative AI among enterprises and organizations surged from 55% in 2023 to 75% in 2024, with an average return on investment of 3.7 times for every dollar spent. The report was commissioned by Microsoft and surveyed over 4,000 business leaders and decision-makers worldwide, including Korea.
Amid the rapid global acceleration of AI adoption, Microsoft is actively supporting customers’ AI transformation through a comprehensive suite of tools and services, including Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure OpenAI Service. In addition, it has created a secure and systematic work environment by integrating centralized document management and security policies through OneDrive and SharePoint.
LG Uplus reported that 85% of employees experienced improved job satisfaction during a pilot implementation of Microsoft 365 Copilot. Significant efficiency gains were observed in meeting management, minute-taking, and issue tracking, leading to plans for expanded adoption.
Sungkyunkwan University has integrated Microsoft 365 Copilot into its research and academic workflows, fostering an AI-driven collaborative culture. This has improved the efficiency of idea organization and dissertation writing in research, while enabling approximately 800 faculty members to focus on core tasks by automating repetitive tasks. In addition, AI-powered personalized education and data analytics are transforming the learning environment, while insights from student and alumni data are maximizing the educational impact.
KRAFTON reported that 95% of employees experienced an improved work-life balance after implementing Microsoft 365 Copilot. Tasks such as managing emails, documents, and meeting minutes have become significantly faster, with 57% of employees saving over 10 minutes per day on content creation. Real-time AI-powered translation features have facilitated smoother communication with global offices, while Excel-based data analysis capabilities have enhanced understanding of complex data and trend forecasting, boosting overall efficiency.
Hyundai Glovis has achieved tangible enhancements in productivity and operational efficiency in its logistics business through a three-month change management process following the introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilot. The company conducted workshops for employees and selected champions to garner and analyze individual Copilot use cases. These insights were then formalized into standardized scenarios, building an AI-driven work culture.

ASAN Medical Center has developed the ‘IMOK’ cancer information platform powered by Azure OpenAI Service to provide personalized care for cancer patients. This platform facilitates fast and accurate treatment through AI chatbot consultations and tailored information. Additionally, the medical staff leverage generative AI technology to assess patient conditions, design optimal treatment plans, and streamline tasks such as analyzing test results and managing clinical trials, significantly reducing their workload.
LS ITC has partnered with AI startup AI3 to develop LS GPT, a generative AI service based on Azure OpenAI Service. Optimized for LS Group’s Azure infrastructure, M365 and Azure Information Protection (AIP) DRM environment, LS GPT has mitigated security risks and achieved cost savings of over 90% compared to commercial services. The platform enables employees to create customized GPT chatbots for company-wide deployment, accelerating knowledge sharing and AI-driven productivity innovations across the group.
POSCO E&C has deployed a generative AI solution based on Azure OpenAI Service to strengthen its risk management capabilities for construction projects. The ‘POS-DOC’ contract review system utilizes large language models to automatically review voluminous contract documents and analyze potential risks. This reduces human error and mitigates contract disputes and financial losses in global construction projects.
SK Discovery has achieved tangible results by deploying generative AI solutions powered by Azure OpenAI Service, significantly reducing the time required for risk assessments in production sites. The corporate communications team has leveraged AI to reduce article curation and review time by 70%, while departments such as finance, marketing, and IT are using AI chatbots to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
Hyundai Futurenet, the ICT subsidiary of Hyundai Department Store Group, has implemented a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solution and marketing and data analytics systems powered by Azure OpenAI Service to drive business innovation across the group. In addition, the technical and business insights gained through years of proof-of-concept (PoC) testing have contributed accelerate the group’s successful AI transformation.
CTR Group · SK Shieldus enhance threat response capabilities with Microsoft Security Solutions
CTR Group has adopted Microsoft Sentinel to integrate security and maintenance management into a single platform, enabling real-time threat detection and rapid response. It also helped build a more secure and reliable internal system and enhanced the overall security system through seamless compatibility with Microsoft 365 products.
SK Shieldus has developed and launched a Managed Detection & Response (MDR) service using Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE), establishing a system that allows for swift responses to hacking incidents. With this service, threats can be quickly detected even as hackers infiltrate the system, minimizing potential damage by reducing dwell time. It also blocks attack paths and proactively scans for vulnerabilities to prevent external intrusions.
