Lincoln Electric System (LES), a utility company that serves more than 114,000 residential customers and 15,000 commercial and industrial customers in Nebraska, has selected Microsoft partner Schneider Electric for field-based asset inspection and management using Orbit as a solution.

Azure ML, which previews next month, “will bring together the capabilities of new analytics tools, powerful algorithms developed for Microsoft products like Xbox and Bing, and years of machine learning experience into one simple and easy-to-use cloud service,” Joseph Sirosh writes. “For customers, this means virtually none of the startup costs associated with authoring, developing and scaling machine learning solutions.”

With the goal of continuing to improve the services offered to Mexican taxpayers, Mexico’s Tax Administration System chose Microsoft Azure cloud computing services, a solution that has allowed them to receive electronic documents in a more secure and reliable manner.

“In Brazil, and our other regions around the world, we’ve seen incredible demand for a global enterprise public cloud offering,” writes Takeshi Numoto, corporate vice president, Cloud and Enterprise Marketing, in a blog post. “Globally, more than 1,000 new customers join Azure every day, and revenue grew more than 150 percent in the last quarter.”
