Building upon the Windows Phone 8.0 Voice Commands feature, developers can now find customized, large-vocabulary transcriptions of user requests without needing to know the vocabulary ahead of time.
By understanding the process ahead of time, Windows Store Program Manager Gus Salloum says, “you’ll be able to avoid a number of mistakes that will cause the app to be rejected from certification or otherwise delayed.”
This week at Build 2014, Microsoft announced Windows Phone 8.1 and the Visual Studio tooling to build apps for it. The release brings convergence to the Windows developer platform, making it easier to build apps that engage and flow across every Windows screen in a user’s life.
As part of Build 2014 in San Francisco this week, Microsoft Advertising rolled out a new software developers kit for Windows 8.1, designed to improve ad-funded monetization for app developers. The group also announced a new SDK for Windows Phone, similarly built to help app developers earn more.
