E3 2014, held this week, was “incredibly special,” writes Phil Spencer, head of Xbox, in a blog post. “We saw amazing games from innovative creators, developed for Xbox, Sony and Nintendo. Some people have asked who ‘won’ this week and the answer is simple – the gamers. It’s wonderful to see our industry healthy and delivering what we all want – great games.”
The games were announced at E3 Monday, and also include: “Destiny,” “Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare,” “Assassin’s Creed Unity” as well as a “vibrant catalog of games from independent developers,” said Phil Spencer, head of Xbox.
Phil Spencer, the new head of Xbox, talks about a variety of topics in the video interview above with Xbox’s Major Nelson. Among them are his thoughts on leading the Xbox team going forward, his laser focus on games and the upcoming E3 event.
Phil Spencer, whose new role leading the Xbox, Xbox Live and creative teams including Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Microsoft Studios, was announced Monday by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, says combining the teams will “strengthen the connection between some of the world’s most innovative creators and those building the Xbox itself.”
