German hospital uses Microsoft technologies to create an intelligent operating room

Physicians from all over Europe come to Siloah St. Trudpert Klinikum in Pforzheim, Germany, to learn a special procedure for kidney-stone removal from the man who pioneered it in the late 1990s. In 2010, the hospital upgraded the operating room system to one that uses Microsoft Windows Embedded. The new system enables higher-quality image transmission and integrated control of surgical equipment.

Window Server for Embedded Systems now available to take on the most critical challenges

Cheat sheet for updates to the Windows Embedded 8 platform

Microsoft has been working hard over the past few months to deliver the Windows Embedded 8.1 update to customers and partners. In June, it was the Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Release Preview, followed by the release to manufacturing version in August. Culminating that work, the updated 8.1 platforms will be generally available on Oct. 17, simultaneously with the Windows 8.1 release.
