Deploying Windows Embedded 8.1? Find out why ADK and MDT are your friends

With the release of Windows Embedded 8.1 and its alignment to the Windows code base, new capabilities and tools become available. For instance organizations can now use tools like the Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) for Windows 8.1, Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2013 and System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager.

New certification gives Windows Embedded Compact 7 devices a valuable stamp of approval

Good news for companies that run or sell small-footprint devices based on Windows Embedded Compact 7: those devices are now FIPS 140-2 certified. Why is that important? For one thing, most government and military organizations require Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 protection to secure highly sensitive data communications.
