Microsoft is launching a web-based privacy dashboard that lets the user see and control the data that Microsoft collects including location, search, browsing, and Cortana Notebook data across multiple Microsoft services. Alongside that, the privacy setup experience is promised to be more streamlined.

Microsoft last year designed its Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) in the form of a Bash to deliver a partial open source experience. With the release of Windows Insider build 15002, Microsoft has brought a large number of changes to its Bash aka Linux command-line interface. “A long list of improvements and fixes for Bash/WSL arrived in this build, resulting in even more compatibility, performance and stability of your favorite Linux tools and technologies,” writes Rich Turner, Senior Program Manager, Microsoft, in a blog post.

Teradata, analytics Solutions Company, announced the availability of Teradata Database on Azure before 31st March 2017, providing customers more choice of cloud options for Teradata software. Steven Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President and Chief Evangelist, Microsoft said, “Microsoft Azure customers recognize the value they derive from data and are actively seeking analytic solutions.”

Keeping in mind the growing cloud market in India, Microsoft, with its cloud solutions provider and partner Crayon, recently organized “Microsoft Cloud Solutions Partner Summit”, in Bangalore to further strengthen its footprint in the cloud distribution market. In his keynote address Ravi Garg, Director, Hosting & Cloud Services at Microsoft focused on how the partners can make most of the current technology transition with organizations which are gradually evangelizing their cloud journey.

AudioCodes, a leading provider of voice networking solutions that enable enterprises and service providers to transition to all-IP voice networks, announced that its 440HD IP phone model has been certified by Microsoft for use with Skype for Business Online, including Cloud PBX. The certification covers Skype for Business on-premises and hybrid environments and integration with Office 365 services.

Zirca Digital Solutions, announced that the company will expand its current partnership with Microsoft, and in addition to Display Ad Sales, they will also act as Bing’s sales partner for search advertising sales in India. Grant Watts, Regional Director of APAC, Microsoft Search Advertising, said, “Zirca’s strong heritage in providing smart advertising and marketing solutions to brands with great strategic frameworks will support our mission of increasing our presence in the Indian market and deepening our relationships with customers in the country.”

Microsoft India has partnered with several state governments to help them leverage cloud, machine learning and mobile based solutions to improve citizen services, education, healthcare and agriculture, among others. Sanjeev Gupta, General Manager, Public Sector, Microsoft India, said, “The cloud ecosystem in India is a significant opportunity and set to grow to USD 1 billion by 2020. Microsoft’s cloud is mirroring this growth statistic, with 52% of top 100 Indian companies listed on the BSE adopting our cloud services.

With its own data center and security engagement center in India, Microsoft said it was “uniquely positioned” in the country to offer flexible, scalable and secure solutions to government and enterprise customers. Microsoft India President Anant Maheshwari, who took charge last week, said the company was also focusing on expanding its partner ecosystem including resellers, system integrators and independent software vendors (ISVs).
