University media wall uses Kinect for Windows and social media to engage students

When students enter the Liberty University library, they’re greeted by an enormous visual display, a media wall that’s 24 feet by 11 feet, with 198 interactive tiles controlled by three Kinect for Windows sensors. The wall displays animated visualizations of photos that have been submitted via social media by students and staff. The sensors let visitors use gestures to grab the photos to get details about what is being shown.

Tips for taking better photos of your pets

One piece of advice is getting down to your pet’s eye level, as you can see from the photo above. As the blog explains, “Shooting your pet from above is rarely flattering. Instead, crouch down and get eye to eye with it. Your pet will love that you’re so close and may be more animated as a result. In addition, focus on the animal’s eyes.”
