Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia creates Windows 10 app to enhance Sales Productivity

e-Coaching app will increase the efficiency and productivity of 3,000-strong sales force across Indonesia

Asia Pacific – 6 November 2015 Coca-Cola Amatil Indonesia (CCAI) announced that it aims to equip its entire sales force of 3,000 across Indonesia with complete access to e-Coaching, a Windows 10 app created to provide sales employees access to various facets of the business including visibility in the market, sales force productivity, engagement with its retailers, people development, and data accuracy.

On the sidelines of Microsoft’s TechDays Indonesia 2015, Deborah Intan Nova (Debbie), HR and IT Director, CCAI, said: “The e-Coaching app ensures our product availability and in-outlet execution in order to deliver the best service and best products to customers, which is fundamental to us since CCAI’s vision is to create millions of moments of happiness and possibilities every day for our stakeholders, including our retailers and consumers.”

Implemented in April 2015, e-Coaching replaced a more laborious and time-intensive system which involved the sales force requiring to jot down information about retailers using pen and paper, such as the refrigeration conditions and product availability, before manually entering it into the company’s system when they return to the office. With the e-Coaching app, the company sees improved data accuracy and efficiency by eliminating manual and paper-based data input, surveys, as well as duplications while providing CCAI with high-quality information for prompt follow-ups and further improvements.

“Now, our sales force has a check-list of questions pre-programed in the e-Coaching app available on their Windows 10 tablets when they do their regular visits to retailers. They can review the retailers’ performance and work together with them to improve. They are also able to spend more time with the customer because all data input can now be submitted directly into CCAI’s database via the e-Coaching app,” Ms. Intan Nova said. “By deploying this application, we are definitely supporting our sales force in staying committed to our core values of taking initiative and owning the outcome, being straight forward and open, as well as focusing on today and tomorrow.”

Currently, 400 CCAI sales staff are using the e-Coaching app to conduct daily visits to retailers, to ensure that in-outlet executions are meeting CCAI’s quality control standards. Full deployment is expected to be completed by November 2015.

Patrick Pech, Research and Development Director, CCAI, said: “When we talk about our sales force as the frontline of our business, it is all about increasing productivity and maximizing time allocation to focus on value-added activities. We continuously seek new ways to transform the way we adapt and move forward in the marketplace. e-Coaching will allow our sales force to run their business more efficiently and effectively. They will also be able to allocate more time and energy to improve other components that are just as important for us in growing our business such as retailers’ engagement, product placements and cooler utilizations, to name a few”

This partnership also aligns to  Microsoft’s focus on enabling companies to embrace a New World of Work, where work is a thing you do, not a place you go to.

Bernard Saisse, Marketing and Operations Director, Microsoft Indonesia, said: “More and more people and companies are seeing the need to be productive outside of the office today. Companies that will succeed in the future will be those that are able to provide the appropriate infrastructure that supports the productivity needs of modern employees to increase their efficiency and increase customer satisfaction even while they are outside the office.”

“We hope that CCAI’s successful implementation and outcome will encourage more organizations to design more effective and efficient work environments that can usher in a mobile-first, cloud-first world,” added Mr. Saisse.

As the tablet provider for the e-Coaching app, Herbert Ang, President Director, Acer Indonesia said, “We are proud to team up with CCAI in providing e-Coaching application on Windows 10 tablets, which are used by CCAI’s sales force. As a market leader for Windows Tablet in Indonesia, Acer is committed to produce devices that can help workers, especially field workers, who need devices for their efficiency and mobility.”
