From immersive game concepts, to life-saving devices, to solutions that could revolutionize the way we do business – no one will leave Imagine Cup uninspired by the time the competition is over and a new champion is crowned.
Nothing embodies the spirit of student innovation like Imagine Cup – Microsoft’s premier global student technology competition. This year’s World Finals from 26 to 29 July in Seattle once again brings together some of the brightest minds in the student developer community from across the world.
12 of the 35 finalist teams will be from Asia, hoping to repeat last year’s success by Australia’s Team Virtual Dementia. The Australian team was awarded first place in the Citizenship category for their “Virtual Dementia Experience”, which simulates the effects of aging and dementia in a virtual environment, so that cognitively intact people can gain an appreciation of the issues confronting people with dementia.
For many of them, the journey to the championship started way back in August last year, when students began forming their teams at schools across the globe. Since then, they have poured their hearts and souls into their solutions and competed in dozens of national finals, taking great projects from just an idea to competition-grade execution.
