Better Together update, biggest ever for ‘Minecraft,’ unites players and devices with one version of game

The biggest update for “Minecraft” has arrived with Better Together, which means players using console, mobile, VR and Windows 10 versions of Minecraft are now one Bedrock Engine family. Say goodbye to “Minecraft: Xbox One Edition” or “Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition” and hello to a universal “Minecraft.”

The update unites players on tens of millions of devices and implements 34 new features into the game. “Minecraft” is the first game in history to have cross-device play between all these different platforms, essentially creating a version of Minecraft that’s consistent no matter what device you’re playing on.

Thanks to the update, console owners can access player-made content on Marketplace. Anything unlocked from the Minecraft Store on one device will be available on all the other devices linked to that person’s Xbox LIVE account.
