Meet the 2022 Imagine Cup SEA New Markets Regional Competition Top Teams

Southeast Asia, 10 March 2022 — For 20 years, student developers have brought their unique technology solutions to life with Imagine Cup to make a difference in the world around them. Starting with just an idea, students form teams of one to three people and leverage Microsoft technology to develop purpose-driven applications from what they’re most passionate about.

The 2022 Imagine Cup is all about global student innovators building together to make a difference with technology and developing their own skills along the way. This competition year, participants from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Laos, Sri Lanka were eligible to apply for the Southeast Asia New Markets Regional Finals.

From the hundreds of teams who submitted projects, four teams were chosen to advance to the Imagine Cup World Finals in March 2022. Each team submitted a project proposal document and software for an original technology solution developed in one of the 2022 Imagine Cup’s competition categories: earth, education, health, or lifestyle.

These teams will each take home USD $1,000 cash prize and USD $1,000 Azure Grant to continue developing their projects, receive judge feedback, and automatically advance to the Imagine Cup World Finals.

Top 12 teams from the Southeast Asia New Markets Regional Finals will receive access to a pool of mentors to develop their solution further to increase the marketability of their products supporting it to enter to respective industries as a startup. Congratulations to the winners!
