Male, Maldives – 07 March 2023: Microsoft is deepening its support to the government and people of Maldives towards building a digital nation, in areas ranging from cybersecurity to cloud computing to environmental sustainability.
Regional leaders from Microsoft recently held a two-day summit in Male with Maldives officials and business leaders to introduce new technologies and reiterate Microsoft’s commitment to this nation of islands in the Indian Ocean.
Day one of the summit focused on powering innovation, streamlining security across platforms and new solutions to enable public and commercial sectors to digitally transform their workloads. The second day focused on strengthening small businesses through partner ecosystem, helping them grow their businesses, better serve customers and make full use of cloud computing, including safeguarding business assets data with Microsoft’s Security solutions.
“The use of technologies like AI will play a critical role in ensuring cyber security and efficiency in the digital eco system,” said Sook Hoon Cheah, general manager, Microsoft Southeast Asia New Markets. “With sustainability at the core of all our initiatives, Microsoft will leverage our technology to empower Maldives in achieving impactful sustainability that would in turn positively benefit the lives of citizens.”
