Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei – March 31, 2023: Microsoft has appointed Akfash Latibu as the country manager for Brunei. In this new leadership role, he will sharpen the focus on accelerating digital transformation for Brunei’s national initiatives, while collaborating with Microsoft’s partners in the public and private sectors as well as communities.
Sook Hoon Cheah, general manager, Microsoft Southeast Asia New Markets, said, “With industry specific knowledge and experience of over 18 years, Akfash understands the local business landscape and unique needs, especially from his time in Brunei previously. This will enable him to add tremendous value alongside our partner ecosystem to accelerate the adoption of digital transformation of Brunei. Originally from Sri Lanka, Akfash has been with Microsoft since 2019. Prior to that, he worked within the Microsoft partner ecosystem in several strategic and technical leadership roles across multiple countries.

Akfash holds an MBA from Cardiff Metropolitan University and has been awarded the Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) Award for his contribution to the technical community and towards the overall success and growth of Microsoft. Outside of work, he is passionate about helping children with special needs.
