Appointed as managing director of Microsoft Thailand on June 1st, 2017, Dhanawat Suthumpun, with over 25 years of IT industry experience, is excited to join Microsoft family and drive company mission to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
His key focus is to enable partners to leverage Microsoft’s technologies to drive success and inspire exceptional innovations in Thailand for the benefit of our customers. Furthermore, he will help drive the digital transformation journey of businesses in Thailand, while ensuring we keep building the trust of all stakeholders and offering talented employees a quality working environment.
Suthumpun joins Microsoft from Hewlett-Packard (Thailand) Limited where he served as managing director and general manager of the Enterprise Group. He led the company’s enterprise services and software business in the country from 2011 to 2017. He also successfully transformed the HP Thailand organization by fostering a customer centric culture and building a strong ecosystem of partners – including a thriving relationship with Microsoft as one of HP’s major strategic allies.
Prior to his time at Hewlett-Packard, Suthumpun spent 18 years with IBM in Thailand and Southeast Asia, where he worked in a wide range of positions and areas of responsibilities – from enterprise customers and services to his eventual role as general manager of telecommunications for IBM in the ASEAN region. In this role, he was responsible for delivering profitable revenue growth, establishing strong market leadership and creating new revenue opportunities and business models for IBM’s telecommunications customers.
Suthumpun holds a Master in Business Administration from California State University, San Bernardino and a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting from Assumption University, Bangkok. He is an avid lover of sports and in his free time, he participates in triathlons and plays golf. As he also loves nature, he sets aside time every month to take care of his own garden, while his weekends are dedicated to his children no matter how busy his schedule gets.
