Yang Hou
Co-President, Microsoft Asia; Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft Greater China Region
As Co-President for Asia, Yang Hou leads Microsoft’s business across ASEAN, Greater China and India, reporting to Deb Cupp.
He is a proven transformational leader with extensive experience across strategy, operations, and sales leadership. Recognised for building thriving technology ecosystems and leveraging deep local market insight, he has a strong track record of enabling customer success and strengthening partner engagement.
Yang Hou will continue to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Greater China Region, providing strategic leadership across sales, marketing, services, and operations for the region’s three subsidiaries that together form one of Microsoft’s most dynamic and innovative growth markets.
Prior to Microsoft, Yang Hou spent more than eight years at Qualcomm in the United States and China, most recently serving as Senior Vice President of the company’s semiconductor business in China. Before joining Qualcomm, he spent five years at McKinsey & Company, where he was a leader in the firm’s technology practice in the United States.
Yang Hou holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics from Peking University and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan. He lives in Beijing with his wife and two children and enjoys running marathons, hiking, and fishing.
