Microsoft Asia President discusses digital transformation on Bangladesh visit

Bangladesh’s digital transformation ambitions were on top of the agenda when the President of Microsoft Asia, Ralph Haupter, met senior government and private sector officials there recently.

“Ralph’s visit to Bangladesh demonstrates Microsoft’s commitment to empower every person and every business in Bangladesh with the tools and solutions to reap the benefits of the digital economy,” said Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh. “We are working in close collaboration with public and private organizations to support the nation’s drive toward a Digital Bangladesh, and we are also ensuring that small and medium enterprises and startups are able to participate in the enormous opportunities across various industries.”

Haupter met Finance Minister A.M.A. Muhith as well as the Bangladesh Bank Governor Fazle Kabir on the issues facing the development of the financial services industry (FSI) and progress in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector.

He also met Tarana Halim, the State Minister of the Post and Telecommunications Division, and discussed how Microsoft could help with digital transformation in Bangladesh. Later, Haupter met with the board members of City Bank to share ideas about the importance of digital transformation in the banking and financial services Industry.
