Teams from Asia Pacific dominate 2014 Worldwide Imagine Cup

Microsoft Corp. announced the winners of the Microsoft Imagine Cup today, the company’s premier competition for student technologists, developers and aspiring entrepreneurs from across the globe and a cornerstone of the Microsoft YouthSpark initiative. Teams from Asia Pacific brought home a record haul of four wins, with Team Eyenaemia of Australia crowned as the overall Imagine Cup World Champion.

Imagine Cup student teams built projects that are fun, fascinating, surprising, and even life-changing. And now Microsoft will fly 35 top teams to Seattle at the end of July for the 2014 World Finals.

Microsoft YouthSpark Challenge for Change is a global contest that encourages young people who are passionate about social causes to submit their ideas for how they can spark social good in their communities, college campuses or throughout the world, using the new Windows and Office. Five grand prize winners will receive a volunteer travel experience in the Amazon, $2,500 cash to kick-start their projects and a Microsoft technology bundle including Windows Phone 8, Xbox One and Surface 2 (or equivalent device).
